CAIRO – 15 August 2022: The Egyptian government’s keeness to empower and involve women has been reflected in the financial statement for the new fiscal year 2022/2023, as plans are underway to implement activities to empower girls and women in the poor villages listed in Haya Karima initiative.
The financial statement was submitted by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Muhammad Maait, for the new fiscal year 2022/2023 to the House of Representatives, headed by Counselor Dr. Hanafi Jabali. The plan targets girls and women in the poor villages in the governorates of Fayoum and Alexandria, at the age group (15-24 years).
The financial statement refers, in this regard, to the establishment of interactive educational electronic platforms, Learning Management System, that enables women and youth to actively participate in the budget preparation cycle and to include these platforms on Egypt’s digital portal.
It also aims to raise awareness of the state’s general budget and Egypt’s Vision 2030, thus enhancing benefit from the efforts of The state in women’s development.
The financial statement pointed out that efforts to raise financial awareness and education are part of the Ministry of Finance’s strategy to understand the labor market in cooperation with the Central Bank, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority and the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
This happens by raising awareness of opportunities available within financial inclusion and entrepreneurship initiatives, as well as building the skills of 2,000 adolescents and young women those at risk of violence, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and many relevant international institutions, to support them in obtaining opportunities for financial empowerment through the various electronic platforms of the concerned authorities.
They will also be introduced to some technical aspects such as computer networks, programming, operating systems, electronic and graphic marketing.
